Ladakh, August 11, 2024 – The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil has formally expressed its grievances over the apparent exclusion of Kargil district from the upcoming launch of the Vidya Sameeksha Kendra (VSK) in Ladakh, scheduled for August 12, 2024.
In a letter addressed to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd), Executive Councillor Zakir Hussain highlighted that neither LAHDC Kargil nor the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil received invitations to the event, which is being hosted by DIET Leh. The letter also pointed out a significant disparity in the allocation of funds between DIET Leh and DIET Kargil, raising concerns about the neglect of Kargil’s educational institutions.
The LAHDC Kargil is urging the UT administration to address these issues and ensure equitable treatment of Kargil district in all future government programs and initiatives.
