Kargil, June 18, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today inaugurated a mobile medical unit for CHC Sankoo which was provided by NHPC Kargil under CSR and SD initiative of NHPC.
During the inaugural session, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse; Director Technical and Projects NHPC, Rajkumar Chaudhary; Jitendra Kumar General Manager/HoP Nimo-Basgoo PS& Chutuk PS besides other concerned officials and officers of NHPC and District Hospital Kargil were present.
The concerned officer from NHPC informed the CEC Kargil that the mobile unit is equipped with all basic medical necessities including labs, biochemistry, haematology urine examination, ECG, glucometer, dental chair, incubator, oxygen cylinder, basic medicine etc.
He also informed that the mobile unit will function like a mini hospital if one doctor, a nurse and a pharmacists will be kept regularly in the mobile unit.
He also said that the objective of the mobile unit is to reach the far flung areas of the district and provide medical services to people at their doorsteps.
The CEC Kargil appreciated the CSR works being conducted by the NHPC in the district for the development of society, especially those who are at the margins. While expressing his optimism the CEC said that NHPC will continue their CSR works in future as well.
The CEC also appreciated the various hydro development project works executed by the NHPC in Ladakh.CEC Dr Jaffer said that Kargil has a lot of potential in generating hydroelectricity adding that various new hydro projects should be started in Kargil.
